In Chinese mythology, a Bifang (毕方) looks very similar to a white crane. However, it is possessed of only a single leg, has a greenish body covered in red spots, and displays a long, white beak. Its vocalisations are similar to the sound of its name being called.
It is said that if it is sighted, then fire-related disasters are sure to happen.
