An immortal chef is a cook who is proficient in all aspects of food preparation, especially using special ingredients. The food they prepare will be equivalent to consuming pills to increase ones cultivation, but much easier on the system, and much more delicious.[1]
Ingredients Preparation[]
Certain ingredients need to be processed by an immortal chef before it can be safely consumed.
Monster beasts and spirit beasts were very different from ordinary beasts as they couldn’t be roasted or eaten directly. Spirit beasts weren’t that bad… but monster beasts had ‘monster energy’ in their bodies, which was completely different from a cultivator’s true qi or spirit energy.[2]
If a monster beast was consumed directly, they would explode and die if they couldn’t handle the monster energy. Therefore, when it came to precious monster beast ingredients, it was best to look for an immortal chef to turn it into a proper immortal dish.[2]
Chef Heart[]
An immortal chef with a chef heart not necessarily a top immortal chef, but a top immortal chef will have at least a chef heart.[3] An outstanding immortal chef such as Demon Emperor Hezhi could have more than one chef heart.[4] Fairy Lady Separated Snow probably had no shortage of chef hearts.[3]
Even though someone obtained and assimilated a chef heart by luck, he needs to learn respective skills for the heart to have some effect. Without proper skills and training, he can only make simple and ordinary dishes.[3]
Life Menu[]
Top immortal chefs were rather fond of making a Life Menu (人生菜单; rénshēng càidān) for themselves. When making this menu, the immortal chef would bring into play the cooking skills they were the proudest of, and create a unique menu with the ingredients they were the best at using.[5]
With the advancement of the immortal chef’s cooking skills and their discovery of new ingredients, the dishes on their Life Menu were constantly replaced… Because of this, some immortal chefs died before being able to complete their Life Menu.[5]
