«Flame Sabre» is a popular and well known sabre technique in the Cultivation World.[1][2] It causes the sabre to burst into flames, and at sufficiently high cultivation the flames can be used to attack from a distance.
It was a Second Stage technique — that is to say, a First Stage cultivator would be unable to use it as he or she pleased. Even if they learned how to activate it, upon execution, flames would not appear on their sabre.
Only after the qi and blood energy within their bodies transformed to true qi would they be able to use the «Flame Sabre» technique, channelling their true qi to create flames.[2]
The flames that burn on the sabre would be able to increase its destructive power, Its power was rather formidable for close combat, yet at the same time, it was capable of impressive long-range attacks as well. Amongst the staple cultivation sabre techniques, it could be considered a rather decent technique.[2]
